Help and support 11yr. old drive by victim

Hello, McKayla was a victim of a drive by on October 12, 2021. McKayla was at her home sleeping in her bedroom and a individual drove up and shot 2 rounds with a gun. One of the bullets went into her home through the dining room wall into McKayla bedroom. The bullet struck her on her Right side above her hip area and went into her Right colon and into her back. Her brother heard the gun shots and came into his mom's room as she asked was that fireworks and he was yelling their has been a drive by. At this time McKayla mom didn't realize it was at her home. McKayla mom could get her crying and she went in frantic to see if she was ok!! That is when McKayla mom pulled her night gown up and found a one single gun shot wound on her side and blood coming out of it. She put pressure on the gun shot and McKayla sister and brother both called 911. McKayla was so brave and walked to the ambulance gurnie and off to the hospital the went. As arriving trauma doctors and nurses told McKayla mom and dad the had to do emergency surgery to see what the gun shot wound damaged.

Waiting for McKayla to get out of surgery last 3 hrs the trauma surgery came and meet with the family and stated that the bullet hit her Right colon and lodged into L4 and L5 in her spine. As the surgery the doctor had to take McKayla Right colon and she has 29 Staples in her belly as the result of it.

October 18th McKayla was doing good but in October 19th McKayla had a set back. She is in alot of pain and incision is drawing alot. She is waiting to get a CT scan done to see if there is a infection or what is going on.

We ask for help as mom and dad are alternating nights at the hospital and dad and mom do live in different homes and mom is not working at the moment as she had to take off to care for McKayla at the hospital. Doctors are saying McKayla stay will be up will be up to 3 weeks than after being released 6 weeks or more of recovery time at home.
