11 Climbs for Brave Bethany – Supporting The Little Princess Trust
On Sunday 26th July, I'll be taking on a challenge to raise money for The Little Princess Trust in support of an incredibly brave young girl, Bethany Wall.
Bethany is my daughter's close friend. At just 11 years old, she has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult time for Bethany and her family.
One of Bethany's biggest worries wasn't just the treatment itself, but how other people might react to the changes in her appearance caused by chemotherapy.
Thankfully, The Little Princess Trust stepped in.
They provide children like Bethany with beautiful, real-hair wigs free of charge, helping restore confidence at a time when they need it most.
Bethany's dad, Alan Wall, said:
"The whole family were shocked when we heard that Bethany has a brain tumour that required chemotherapy to treat. The care and support from Royal Manchester Children's Hospital has been amazing.
One of Bethany's biggest fears was how other people would react to her changing appearance. The Little Princess Trust have provided her with the reassurance and support that she can do this.”
The Challenge
Because Bethany is 11 years old, I will climb Rivington Pike 11 times in one day.
• ⛰️ 11 ascents
• Around 66km of walking/running
• Approximately 2,800m of climbing (This is like climbing Ben Nevis more than twice!)
Depending on how Bethany is feeling, we're hoping that she, along with her friends and family, will join me for the final climb to the peak!
The Goal
A bespoke wig supplied by The Little Princess Trust costs around £700.
My fundraising target is £2,100, enough to fund three wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Every pound raised will help another child face treatment with confidence and dignity.
How You Can Help
I'm looking for:
• Businesses to sponsor one of each of the 11 climbs.
• Donations of any size.
• People willing to share this page to help spread the word.
Bid Writing Service (BWS) have kick-started the fundraising with a £250 donation.
Together, let's make sure children like Bethany have one less thing to worry about while focusing on their recovery.
Thank you so much for your support.
