10K Run for Ceiling Track Hoist for Eric
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samantha, I have registered to run the 10K Women's Mini Marathon on Sunday 2nd June 2024. I am hoping to raise money for my little cousin Eric Fitzpatrick's trust fund 'Eric's Heroes', to get him a Ceiling Track Hoist.
Eric is a very special little boy who is loved by so many. Shortly after his birth, Eric was diagnosed with a condition called KCNQ2 Encephalopathy. KCNQ2 is a gene involved in the proper functioning of the potassium channel in the brain. Seizures and developmental delays are associated with Eric's condition.
Eric requires 24 hour care to support his needs. To help support his needs. To help support Eric's Mam and Dad, Wendy and Mark, I am fundraising for the Ceiling Track Hoist.
Eric is over 6 stone and non-weight bearing, this means those who care for him, predominantly his Mam, who is his main carer, can't lift him anymore and she struggles to move him up in his bed or on the couch. When she is on her own with Eric, a portable hoist is used, this is supposed to be used by two people to get him from his bed to his wheelchair. It is physically dangerous for Eric as he is not being supported while bring moved and he loves to rock and bounce while being moved in the sling.
The ceiling track would mean Eric can be safely transferred by his parents, also protecting their physical well-being from continous wear and tear as Eric gets older and heavier.
By doing the 10K run for Eric, I hope to help contribute, with your support to Eric's Trustfund. This continues to help Eric receive appropriate supports in the life and enable him to reach his full potential.
I know times are difficult for many, so all donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to updating you all in the near future.
