$ 10k needed for my last Double CD—I have cancer

AP, Ethel-Ann has been creating original music projects since 1979 with her full-length album ELEPHANT PATCH. She’s a 1990 NC Emerging Artistic Grantee, 1997 Southeast Regional Artist Grantee and inducted into the Carolina Archives of Music. Her first album was assigned in 2015 to the retro-record label Numero Group & from that release AP texts with “kids” all over the world who have discovered Ethel-Ann in their early 20’s.

Ann has been based in Austin, NYC, & Hollywood. Has been backed on stage and studio by Rodney Crowell, Don Dixon, Nona Hendryx, the late Bernie Worrell, and JD Foster among others. However, AP is most proud of her development and encouragement of young writers and musicians who may no longer live in Austin but who AP helped put on international maps.

She was an organizer and artist benefit director for the UT-16 and OpMexico recruiting other artists and playing those benefits. She was “Recommended” in THE AUSTIN CHRONICLE 27 X in less than 2 years.

AP is one hell of a songwriter and passionate guitarist/bassist. She wrote the title-track for this double CD, “Hard Headed Power” while sitting in a snowy field in inpatient treatment for addiction, wearing a crash helmet (coming cold-turkey of harsh drugs, she was having seizures). She’s been sober and clean since, 30+ years.

In October 2022 she was diagnosed with cancer, for which she underwent radiation to shrink the tumor, but it’s still there.

The diagnosis got her attention and she began applying herself to the creation of a final double original music CD. She has, as guitarists, Henry Darden, Robert Floyd, Larry Peterson as a bassist and Bobby Pearson, drummer, long time friends, and Phil Hart also on skins. She has a producer in Gryphon Graham who lives in Brooklyn, when not on the road. It will cost 5k + to pay for his and Jacob Darden’s engineering on this recording. She has a space at Henry Darden’s but he needs to be compensated for the use of his house. The double CD costs minimum $3000 from CD Baby with UPC code.

10k gets this project off the ground and in pocket, WNCW wants to interview and play her with band, live, in studio; The Grey Eagle wants her in ASAP, along with a return to Austin to tour and playing SXSW 24, and all of the clubs that make Austin “the live music capital of the world” along with LA, SF, Seattle, a special concert at Wounded Knee, NYC and Europe—let’s help her record a final recording and you can trust and believe, AP, her crew and Higher Power can do the rest—(5% of all funds raised from CD sales, go to UNC-Valdese Cancer Center.)
