$10k For 10 Years Of Lose Yr Mind

Lose Yr Mind Fest is a community project + independent music festival that began in Portland, OR in 2014. It began as a series of house shows that graduated to warehouse parties and is now a wristbanded, multi-venue walkable festival in industrial SE Portland.

We've poured our blood, sweat, tears + paychecks to make this annual community event come together + the time has come to ask for community support. Each year, we bootstrap the funds together to pull off this now nearly 2,000 person weeklong party. We need some breathing room + some help so we can continue to grow + only lose our minds in a healthy way :)

Keeping tickets affordable is important to us so artists + anyone on a tight budget can still experience the magic of this event. We've done this since day one + offer a "starving artist" ticket price. In order to keep this model going, we need funds to subsidize these cheeper tickets.

We also believe in treating artists extremely well. Bands are paid well, hospitality is excellent + staff / volunteers are friendly. It's amazing how many helping brains + hands have helped make Lose Yr Mind into one of the largest annual music events in Portland.

Funds raised through this campaign will help us better pay support staff, assist with pre-event costs, invest in new merch, cover our office rent, help us launch new LYM projects + give us some much needed breathing room (and maybe a post-fest team pizza party ). For years we've funded this ourselves (and a little help from our friends) + now it's time to ask folks for some support.

Lose Yr Mind is about that feeling you get when yr at a show + everything goes away. It's almost mediative. Stress, sadness, anger all melt away + you are present. Connecting with the people around you + the artists on stage. This connection almost creates a feedback loop. One where the audience feeds off the artist + the artist feeds off the crowd. In that moment, you have lost yr mind.
