10-2 Pictures: A 48-hour short film production for 48HFP!

With the 48 Hour Film Project (or 48HFP) returning to Toronto from October 18-20, 2024, I’ve assembled a talented team of filmmaking professionals under the name of 10-2 Pictures; together, we’ll take on the challenge of writing, shooting, and editing a short film all in one weekend!

If you’re not familiar with the 48 Hour Film Project, here’s an overview of how it works: on the evening of Friday, October 18, teams will attend a Kickoff Event to receive a prompt from the 48HFP organizers. This will prompt will include a character name, a prop, and line of dialogue, all of which must be incorporated into each team’s final film. Teams will also randomly draw 2 film genres from a provided list - a minimum of 1 of the drawn genres must be used in the final film. Once the Kickoff Event has concluded, teams will begin the process of writing, shooting, and editing a short film before the submission deadline of Sunday evening. After the weekend of the challenge, the films are shown in groups at screening events to compete for various awards, including one jury pick that moves on to the North American 48HFP competition in Seattle.
