'Something for Simi'
Our daughter, sister, aunt, fiancée, cousin, niece, and friend was special to all of us. From her makeup to her antique jewelry this girl was always in style. Always in God’s light, but quick to be our Fashion Police!
From telling her friends and family every time there was a sale at Last Chance, to also knowing when to give great advice and tell you " To Let Go and Let God" , through it all Siminya always had a smile on her face.
A beautiful person inside and out is just one amazing trait Siminya shared with us all. Her faith stood strong no matter the circumstance and she was never afraid to share her strong Christian beliefs and values!
Simi understood the importance of giving back to the community. The name Siminya means "woman of voice," and Simi made it her mission to use the power of her voice to organize and motivate her friends and family to do great things.
As president of her youth group, she passed out blankets to the homeless, clean libraries and collected donations for food and clothing drives. She used her love of fashion and charity to oraganize a team to walk in high heels and raise funds for the Tempe Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. In the midst of cancer treatments, she reached out to friends and family to raise funds and walk for Susan G. Komen. With friends, Simi planned local fashion shows within the community to promote local businesses and brought an appreciation and love of fashion to Phoenix.
There isn’t a day that goes by where we won’t at some point think of you. I know that Simi would tell us all to enjoy life and don’t wish away our days waiting for better ones.
Simi gave so much and received love and support from friends and family in return. And we want to help Simi and her family during this difficult time.
All donations will assist the Nix family with any and all expenses that helped Siminya fight the good fight. The family would also like to raise money for inflammatory breast cancer awareness and research. I know we all have our favorite Simi moments so please feel free to share the memories! #1010strong
