100miles for Evelyn

Hi, my name is Guy and I am doing the Le Petit Grand Prix 100mile bike ride to raise money for Evelyn.

I am wanting to raise money for Evelyn as she is one of my sons best friends, and so I have seen the arduous journey she and her family have been through.

Unfortunately Evelyn has spent most of this last year in hospital receiving treatment for Neuroblastoma.

Shortly after Evelyn turned 4 on the 28th of April 2022 she started being unwell and it wasn't until the 1st of August 2022 that she was diagnosed with Cancer in the bones, and has been undergoing treatment ever since.

So when she should have been enjoying her first year of school she was undergoing the following treatment..

• 8 rounds of intense chemotherapy

• 4 extra rounds ‘mild’ chemotherapy

• A week of high dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplant

• 14 sessions of radiotherapy

• 5 bone biopsy’s

• 4 bone marrow biopsy’s

• 6 MRIs under general anaesthetic

• 4 MIBG Scan's. A full body nuclear scan test that uses injected radioactive material

• 14 physiotherapy sessions

• 2 hydrotherapy sessions

• her stem cells harvested and transplanted back

• experienced hair loss twice

• and is about to start 6 months of immunotherapy

All of this treatment that Evelyn received meant she had to stay in hospital for months on end.

She is now due to start her immunotherapy at the end of July, which is a 6 month course and can hopefully be done from home.

Now Evelyn is home her mum and dad are now able to take her for days out and to make memories for her and I would like to raise money towards Evelyn been able to enjoy some amazing days out.

Evelyn is an amazing strong young lady and the 100mile bike ride i am doing on the 17th of September through the Lincolnshire Wolds is not even the tip of the iceberg compared to what Evelyn has been through.

I'm sure you will all agree no one is more deserving of making as many memories as possible than Evelyn and her family.
