100km rollerski in London to fund my upcoming ski season!

My Olympic dream began in 2012 when I watched the Olympics held in the city I was born in, London, England. I remember the excitement of seeing world class athletes in all different sports representing their home nations. This resonated with 8-year-old me. This was around the time I started cross country ski racing and knew I wanted to experience the same thing I was watching all of those athletes do in London.

Since I was 17 years old, I have been racing at an international level, representing Great Britain at the Word Junior Championships in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons and the World U23 Championships in the last 2024/25 season, delivering the best ever results for my country in the 10km and 20km skate races. This season I want to aim higher, and represent Great Britain in cross country skiing at the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.

The last four years I have done a lot of solo training, so I love coming back to Lillehammer, Norway every winter for races and camps and Scotland every summer to meet up with my teammates for training and racing, knowing that I have a second family halfway across the world. This summer I have spent over a month in Scotland training with the Performance and Continental cup squads. I also did testing, strength work and physio sessions with the Scottish Insitute of sport. I spent a week on the Haig glacier in Canada training on snow at altitude, and spent a week skiing in the ski tunnel and on the rollerski track in Oberhof, Germany.

As a self funded athlete for Great Britain, it is extremely costly to fly back and forth from Europe to Canada and the US, where I compete for the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the NCAA RMISA circuit. From long haul flights to accommodation, food, and race entries, it is not a cheap sport to participate and compete in. Travel and race/training camp costs add up quickly, especially skiing for GB where cross country skiing is a very small and non-funded sport.

Next Friday the 15th of August, I will be skiing 100km with the British Nordic Development Squad head coach Jordan Andrews in my home city, London, to raise money for my upcoming season. Feel free to donate as little or as much as you’d like, or even just sharing this link is so incredibly appreciated!

All of the money raised will go towards funding my journey to the World Cup this season, where I can hopefully qualify for the Olympics and be a role model for the up and coming generation of British female athletes.

Thank you to my sponsors Atomic, Lillsport, KV+, and JailJam for the equipment support, my family and friends for always supporting me, and all of my coaches for getting me to where I am as an athlete today. Thank you to GBsnowsport for reaching out to me to write articles and make posts to raise awareness for me and the sport. Thank you to UAF for being a fantastic school to ski at and learn at, while balancing my GB skiing goals at the same time, and thank you to everyone who has cheered for me on the side of the trail or on the other side of a tv screen. Here’s to an exciting 2025/26 season!

Check in on my Instagram story @tab1thawilliams on Friday the 15th to follow along with the 100km ski, as well as @gbsnowsports @britishnordic @snowsportsscotland for more content!
