100k in memory of Sarah Everard
I'm running 100k in a week in memory of Sarah Everard after her tragic murder this month. The money is in aid of the End Violence Against Women Coalition to help put a stop to the violence and abuse women suffer from everyday in the UK.
EVAW is a leading coalition of specialist women’s support services, researchers, activists, survivors and NGOs working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms. Violence against women and girls is widespread and linked to women’s inequality, but there is concrete action that can be taken to end it and to prevent it, and everyone has a role to play.
Like so many women across the UK, Sarah's death resonated with me as it could have been any of us - your friend, daughter, girlfriend or sister. Although tragic, this occurrence wasn't surprising.
Sarah should have got home safely. Lets work together to make systematic and societal change so women in the future can be safe walking home.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
