100k in the Brecon Beacons for Alzheimer’s Society
For those who don’t know me, I’m Charlie and on the 26th July, I’ll be taking on a 100km race in the Brecon Beacons to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.
Over two years ago, my grandma (Barbara) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. At the time, I had no idea what it meant; all I knew was that there was no cure. Although she may not be with us anymore, she’ll always hold a very special place in my heart.
She was the most caring and compassionate individual, and never failed to look after those she loved the most with all her heart. Her compassion for others, animals and nature could be felt with every interaction. It would be rude not to mention she also made the most delicious sweet treats you’ve ever come across!
To raise awareness of this terminal illness and in memory of Barbara, I’ll be taking on 100km in the unforgiving Brecon Beacons, home of the SAS selection course. Through my chosen suffering, I hope to raise awareness and funds to support those who suffer everyday from this life changing illness.
If there’s one number that I associate with my grandma the most, it’s number 46. For this reason, I’ve set the target at £460.
I appreciate every single donation more than I can express. Let’s raise awareness and support together.
This one’s for you grandma ❤️
