I'm Miles Nelson and this is my daughter, Olivia. Like you, we're worried about the climate crisis.
In the Summer of 2019, we rolled up our sleeves and started picking up trash and created the Carmel Cleanup Crew. Our goal was simple...to show that people, willing to get involved, could make a difference.
During that Summer, we, and many volunteers, met Saturday mornings to pick up trash. As word of the Carmel Cleanup Crew spread, we'd receive tips of dirty areas needing our attention.
On October 5th, 2020, we kicked off the '10,000 Trees in Carmel' Campaign. Our goal is to plant ten thousand trees in Carmel and the surrounding communities over the next ten years. So far, we've planted 160 trees.
Each sapling (baby tree) costs $4.
Imagine the significant contribution 10,000 trees will make. These trees will clean our air, beautify our communities, reduce soil erosion and provide natural habitat for so many creatures.
