1,000 Reps a Day for Humanity as an Embodied Act of Solidarity

Around the world, children are enduring violence, displacement, hunger, and loss on a scale that is difficult to comprehend. I can’t carry that pain for them — but I can refuse to turn away from it.

So I’m choosing to move with it.

Each day, I will complete 1,000 repetitions of movement as a physical container for grief, rage, and care — a practice similar in spirit to walks for peace or charity runs. This is my way of staying present in my body while raising funds for UNICEF, whose work directly supports children affected by war, displacement, famine, and humanitarian crises.

I have a background in personal training and somatic movement, and I’ve spent years using the body as a tool for regulation, healing, and truth-telling. As an abuse survivor and an autistic person, I experience the suffering of the world deeply and physically. Turning away has never been an option for me — but neither is collapsing under the weight of it.

This practice is my way of staying alive, grounded, and ethically engaged, because if others are enduring pain, I will not numb myself. I will move.

All funds raised will be donated to UNICEF, supporting emergency relief, medical care, food access, education, and protection for children caught in global crises.
