On 17 September we embark on a month long, 1000 mile cycle from John O’ Groats to Lands End. We are taking the slow roads and feel that with us both being in our 60’s, taking our time and enjoying (hopefully!) the journey, we will have more chance of completing it!
We would like to raise money for two charities which are personal to us and any size donation would be massively appreciated. We will split donations evenly between the two.
Firstly, we invite you to join us in making a small difference by raising money to benefit Prostate Cancer UK. Having had a recent scare we are very aware of the work Prostate Cancer UK is leading to stop prostate cancer being a killer. One man dies from prostate cancer every hour in the UK and deaths from prostate cancer are set to soar over the next decade. By finding better tests, better treatments, better prevention and better support they aim to dramatically reduce the number of men dying from prostate cancer. It will be more than appropriate that Duncan will be sat on his prostate for 1000 miles!
Secondly, everyone reading this will know that dogs are a big part of our lives. We are really keen to support a charity dedicated to providing assistance dogs that help to transform the lives of people with disabilities, enabling them to lead more independent lives. With that in mind we have chosen Canine Partners who are in their 35th year and have now achieved over 1000 partnerships with their amazing dogs.
Thank you, in advance, for any support you can give. We will provide a link in due course so you can follow our adventure!
With love
Duncan and Jackie
