Hi, I'm Max Nepa-Rewak from Brooklyn NY. I am an avid cyclist and concerned supporter of the people of Gaza. On August 2, 2025, I will be attempting to ride 100 miles of Prospect Park laps. I expect this to take about 6 hours at a pace of around 18 mph.
I will be collecting donations which will all go to Gaza Sunbirds Para-cycling Club , a Gazan para-cycling team that has become a local mutual aid organization.
Everyone is welcome to support by donating and any interested cyclists are encouraged to join the ride on Saturday. We will meet at 7:30 am at Grand Army Plaza to start, and we expect to be riding until around 2:30pm. Feel free to join for as much or as little of the ride as you would like, or meet us afterwards for coffee and lunch in the park.

In 2018, our co-founder Alaa Al Dali was shot by an Israeli sniper during a peaceful protest. He lost his leg—but not his fight. Together with Karim Ali, he founded the Gaza Sunbirds: Palestine’s first paracycling team, created for amputee athletes whose lives were forever changed by the occupation. In light of the ongoing genocide, our para-cycling team has reverted all its resources to providing community-led aid to Gaza.
Since the war began, we’ve delivered over £430,000 in aid across Gaza, made history at the Para Cycling World Championships, and turned shattered streets into training grounds.
Regardless of how bad the situation gets, we are determined to continue supporting our communities through these tough times. Our grass roots network prepares and distributes parcels of essentials to the communities around us."
