This July, we will be running 100 miles non stop in Scotland to help raise money for a project that means a huge amount to us and our local community.
The aim is to help create a dedicated outdoor wellbeing space at a local school, somewhere children can go when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unsafe, or simply in need of calm and support.
The school currently supports children facing a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. They have shared a vision for a safe outdoor environment that can be used during playtimes and lunchtimes, as well as for therapy sessions led by their mental health professionals and ELSA team. Some children also regularly meet with social workers during the school day, and this space would provide a far more nurturing and supportive setting for those important conversations.
Mental health is something we both care deeply about, and over the years we have each supported and promoted mental health initiatives in different ways within our communities. When we heard about the school’s vision, we wanted to do everything we could to help make it a reality.
Running 100 miles will be one of the toughest challenges we have ever taken on, but if it helps create a space where children feel safe, supported and listened to, every mile will be worth it.
This is an ambitious project, (we are aiming for 10k) but we believe every child deserves access to a safe and calming environment where they can regulate emotions, speak openly and feel supported.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help bring this space to life.
Thank you so much for your support
