This July I am solo trekking and bivouacking (legally wild camping) for 100+ miles (164 km) in the Pyrenees mountains. I want to use this trek as an opportunity to raise funds for Doctor's Without Borders, who are providing critical medical aid in Sudan and Gaza right now. If you'd like to help, your donation will directly support their work in these urgent crises. If you want to see the route I am going to take, you can view it here).
I have chosen Doctors Without Borders for the following reasons: (a) they are rated very highly by independent sources in terms of impact, use of funds, and transparency [source1, source2]; and (b) they are currently operating in both Gaza and Sudan, both of which are experiencing acute and devastating humanitarian crises - and many other charities are not able to operate in Gaza due to the blockade [source3, source4]. Every contribution counts, and thanks for being part of the effort :)
If you’d like a little something in return:
I’ll be shooting film photos throughout the hike, and I’ll turn some of my favorites into custom postcards/photos. Here are the options:
€7-19.99 = custom post card (pick up - Amsterdam only)
€20-50 = custom post card sent to you (world wide)
€50+ = high quality printed photo
100% of your donation (after postage*/photo printing**) goes directly to Doctors Without Borders. Thank-you for supporting such an urgent cause.
* postage = ~€1.30 NL / €1.90 INTL
**photo printing = €2-6 depending on size (50+ donations only)
***no print cost for post cards!
