This early October 2025, Pete and I are walking from London to Brighton in 3 days — about 100 miles, more than a marathon a day — for our amazing friend Leanne.
Why? Because Leanne is facing aggressive breast cancer that has now spread to her brain. Her only real hope is to access a treatment called Enhertu — which has shown incredible results for people in her situation, but costs up to £10,000 per cycle. Without fundraising, it’s out of reach.
But here’s the thing about Leanne: she isn’t just surviving this disease — she’s been a role model to others going through cancer. She’s been unbelievably open about her journey, supporting people who are walking the same path while inspiring countless others with her honesty, courage, and her beautiful zest for life. Even in the toughest times, she radiates positivity and fight.
So here we are: two men, a lot of blister plasters, a sparkly bra cameo (yes, really), and 100 miles of questionable decisions — all to help give Leanne a fighting chance.
If you can donate, please do. Every pound goes directly towards Leanne’s treatment. If you can’t, sharing this page will help just as much.
Every step is for Leanne.
Leanne’s Story (the short version)
Leanne was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2018 after years of misdiagnosis. By the time it was found, it had spread to her bones and liver. Since then, she’s endured six years of gruelling treatments — chemo, radiotherapy, targeted therapies — along with endless side effects, hospitalisations, and even a mastectomy.
In 2024, scans showed the cancer had spread again, this time to her brain. Because of where the tumour is, the most effective targeted radiotherapies aren’t an option. The only NHS treatment available is whole-brain radiotherapy, which carries devastating side effects.
But there is hope. A newer drug, Enhertu (Trastuzumab Deruxtecan), has been showing incredible promise for patients with brain metastases. Leanne’s doctors believe it could help — but the cost is staggering. At around £10,000 per cycle, it’s only possible with fundraising support.
That’s why we’re walking. To help Leanne access the treatment that could extend her life and improve her quality of living.
