10 year old Dj suffered a Brain aneurysm

10/28/2023 Update on DJ!: Thank you all for your continued prayers and support, they are so greatly appreciated and your prayers are not going unheard! DJ’s doctors performed a successful procedure to clamp the aneurysm and have slowly weaned him off of the medications that have been keeping him in an induced coma while his brain heals. They also recently removed his breathing tube and he has since began regaining consciousness! Throughout the past several days test results show that DJ has suffered some brain damage that will affect his gross motor abilities as well as partial esophageal paralysis which will affect speech, breathing, and swallowing. Since waking up, DJ has shown glimpses of his usual personality but also some fear and confusion, which the doctors have expressed is normal. DJ has suffered some brain damage, as a result of the aneurysm. His neurology team told us to expect to be at UCSF for at least another 3 months or more. But the doctors feel optimistic about his prognosis and believe that with ongoing treatment and therapy, there is no limiting his recovery! DJ experienced the rupture of unknown brain aneurysm on October 12th in the early hours of the morning. His sister was awakened from her sleep by the noises of her brother who was unconscious and struggling to breathe, fighting for his life. She immediately called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital where the doctors discovered a significant brain bleed. As a result, he was flown from Fresno to UCSF where he underwent a brain procedure to neutralize the aneurysm. He has been in a medically induced coma so he can rest and heal for the past several days. Today, 10/18/23 they performed an additional procedure to check on the status of the aneurysm and have discovered that it has unfortunately grown. DJ needs immediate surgery to clamp the aneurysm as he will likely not survive another traumatic event. The aftermath of this life-threatening event has left his mother, Sasha, facing numerous challenges, including the burden of everyday bills which are piling up after losing her job so she can stay by DJ’s side at UCSF, as well as raising her other children.

Our goal is to help Sasha overcome these financial obstacles by raising funds to offset the family’s monthly bills, including rent, utilities, groceries, gas prices, and other essential living expenses.
