10 Times Displaced - Help Ahmed Keep His Family Alive

My name is Gaylen. Ahmed and his family have become dear to me as I have gotten to know them over the past 6 months. This fundraiser will collect donations for the family's ongoing needs amidst the humanitarian crisis and skyrocketing prices of basic necessities.

How many times can a family lose their home before they lose hope?

My name is Ahmed. I’m 24 years old, and I live in Gaza with my family.

Before the war, we were just like any other family — my father worked hard to provide for us, my mother cared for our home with love, my siblings studied and dreamed of their future. We had plans, goals, and a life we were building together.

But over the past months, everything changed.

We have been displaced not once, not twice… but more than ten times.

Each time, we fold our tent — our only shelter — and walk into the unknown. We carry nothing but our exhaustion and the few belongings we can hold.

My mother walks in silence… her tears never dry.

My younger brother once collapsed in the street from hunger. I could do nothing but hold him and cry.

We tell ourselves, “Maybe today we’ll eat. Maybe today we’ll rest.”

But the bombing always starts again. The fear never leaves.

Our faces have grown pale. Our eyes are heavy from crying. Now we live among the broken walls of our damaged home — unsafe, unfit for living, but it’s all we have left.

My father works tirelessly, but no matter how hard he tries, it’s impossible to meet our daily needs in these conditions.
