10 Miles for 10 Years

On August 10th, 2020, I am running 10 miles to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of losing my friends/cross-country & track teammates, Amanda Post and Natalie Nield. On August 9th, 2010, they passed away in a fiery car accident coming back from high-altitude training in Mammoth Lakes, CA. They were both so full of life and really inspirational to me not only in how they trained, but in how they lived their lives. Since running was what we did together, I decided that I wanted to run 10 miles for 10 years. Losing them was a significant event in my life as well as for many others who were close to them. For me, this is about keeping their legacies alive and honoring them the best way I know how - by running.

Amanda's parents set up the Amanda Post Foundation to award scholarships and grants for girls who excelled in school, cross-country, and track & field - just like Amanda did (she was going to run for Cal Poly SLO) - who had accepted spots to compete for Division 1 NCAA programs. By donating to the Amanda Post Foundation, you are allowing girls the opportunity to go to college and compete at the highest collegiate level. Any amount helps! Or if you are really crazy, you can join me on August 10th (because I work all day on the 9th) and run the 10 miles (or a portion of it) with me. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
