Help My Mom Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hi friends, Selena here — if you know me, you may know that I don’t always have the easiest time asking for help, but this is for my mom, and for her I’d do anything.
My mother, Lily, was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer. To say that our world was shaken upside down is an understatement — it’s just my mom, little sister, and myself left in the US, after we lost my dad in 2020. Nevertheless, my mom is the definition of a fighter! After surgery and ongoing chemo, we’re crossing our fingers that she can recover and continue living her life full of joy and love. She is true sunshine, with the most kind heart and smile — more than anything, she is the personification of strength and perseverance through the ups and downs.
However, we are requesting your help. Given her ongoing chemo, her immune system is highly compromised and is unable to continue working her food and bev job as a waitress. Furthermore, as a mixed status household, my mother is ineligible for health insurance or governmental financial assistance. All donations will go directly toward ensuring that she can recover and battle her cancer without financial worries, covering expenses like groceries, rent, utility bills, and ongoing treatment.
Thank you for taking the time to read this — know that my mom will be forever grateful for every kind thought, prayer, and of course, if possible, donation. As my little sister prepares to go to college and we continue to navigate this obstacle that life has thrown our way, know that your contribution (whether emotional or monetary) will help us feel less lonely and better equipped to keep going forward — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
