I am not a runner. I have never been a runner. My first 5K ever was this past June, and it took everything in me to get through it. Yet here I am in November, taking on the challenge of running ten 5Ks in one month.

This season of my life has been about growth, identity, discipline, and becoming a new version of myself. I have been rebuilding my health, my habits, my strength, and my self-respect. Running these 5Ks is part of that journey. It helps keep me accountable to my weight-loss goals, my nutrition, and my commitment to living in a body that feels strong and supported by the choices I make.

These runs have not been easy. They take extra time, extra energy, and extra planning on top of everything else happening in my life. They drain me. They push me. They challenge me every time I lace up my shoes. Life is difficult. Growth is difficult. Everything meaningful comes with some kind of difficulty attached to it.

I am choosing this difficult thing on purpose. Choosing hard things makes the unchosen hard things in life more manageable. The more I practice doing things that stretch me, the better equipped I am for the challenges I don’t pick. This challenge helps me build resilience in the areas I can control, so I have strength left for the things I cannot.

This fundraiser is especially meaningful because it ties movement to purpose. Running forces me to make better decisions with food, with fueling, with self-care. It keeps me conscious during a season when it is easy to slip into overeating, comfort eating, or hibernation mode. Running with too much food, or the wrong fuel, or a belly full of sugar is miserable. Good choices matter for every mile.

Not everyone has the privilege of making the “good choice.” Many families in our country are fighting a different battle—one where food choices are limited by cost, access, and survival. Some parents have to prioritize filling power over nutritional value because it is the only option available. Hunger forces compromises that no child or family should have to face.

This fundraiser supports families who are on that harder end of the spectrum. Every dollar helps provide real nutrition, real meals, and real relief. Your support fuels my runs, fuels my mission, and—most importantly—fuels families who need it the most.

Help me help them. Help me turn my effort into meals and hope for others. Your donation matters more than you know.

Thank you for supporting this journey.
