10 Days: Jenn and Su Emergency Rent Help

Hello everyone! My name is Jenn and I have a 19 year-old cat named Su. Three weeks ago I lost my job and I have been searching for work ever since, but have not been able to find anything as of yet. I work in food service and unfortunately, this time of year, many places simply are not hiring due to the lack of business, especially in the small town where I live.

My landlord understands my situation and has been very lenient with me all through February, however, time is running out and that is why I am starting this GFM.

I am looking to raise $2000 to cover my rent for February & March ($950/mo + utilities). I just spoke to my landlord on Thursday and he informed me that if I am unable to come up with this money by March 1, they are going to start eviction proceedings. I would have started this GFM then, but I was waiting back to hear on a job I interviewed for. The interview went well and all seemed promising, but even after following up, I still have not heard back.

I am still out there looking for work, I have gone all around town and applied everywhere I can; the unfortunate thing is, even if I land a job and started immediately, it would be at least 2 weeks before I received my first check, which would be too late.

Asking for help is not something I ever do; I am the person who always helps others, and I never ask for it myself. However, I am in a desperate situation. If it was just me perhaps I wouldn't mind being homeless, but I also have a 19 year old cat whose health is on the decline and she cannot be homeless too, especially in the middle of winter.

If anybody could help, in any way, Su and I would appreciate it more than you could possibly know. I don't know how, but I will make it up to you all in any way that I possibly can. I just need to get myself some more time.
