Help JoJo Keep Her Bubbly Spirit Shining Bright!

Hi, this is Matthew Bather a close friend of Denise and her parents. Denise is the mother of bubbly JoJo.

On June 11th, our incredible JoJo celebrated her first birthday not with cake and presents at home, but in the Toronto SickKids hospital, undergoing her second brain operation. This courageous little warrior had a temporary shunt removed. The original procedure was required to manage fluid on the brain, with her being placed in an induced coma for a few days as doctors fought to manage fluid on her brain.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty for JoJo's devoted parents, Denise and Hayden. They've endured countless MRIs, CT scans, blood tests, and even DNA tests, as neurologists and urologists continue to search for the cause of her incredibly high blood pressure, resulting kidney challenges, and recent seizures. While the seizures are now thankfully improving, JoJo is likely facing another month in the ICU, whilst an army of specialist doctors try to determine the cause of JoJo's situation.

Denise and Hayden, pillars of strength for JoJo, are living a parent's worst nightmare. They spend every waking moment by her bedside at SickKids, finding what little rest they can in their car. Denise, a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) who normally cares for the elderly, has had to put her career on hold to be JoJo's primary caregiver, now needing to look after her own beloved daughter.

While Employment Insurance (EI) offers some support, it barely scratches the surface of the mounting financial strain they face. Rent, household bills, and the unexpected costs of living at the hospital are piling up, adding immense stress to an already unimaginable situation.

I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to wrap JoJo's family in a blanket of support, allowing Denise and Hayden to focus entirely on JoJo's well-being, now and for her future, without the crushing weight of financial worry.
