"Give Debbie A Dollar!" An Angels Of Long Island Fundraiser

Tax deductible
It's Just A Dollar!

For years, Debbie and her dedicated team have been a pillar of community outreach across both Suffolk and Nassau counties. From operating their community outreach hub in Patchogue, to providing compassionate support, daily essentials, meals, holiday miracles, relief after tragedy, and much much more for thousands of Long Island families. But to provide that support, they need funding!

With the cost of rent, utilities, supplies, overhead, and all of the other things it takes to keep the angels running, all rising on the daily, it's getting tougher and tougher each day to keep their doors open. But there is a way we can help!

Give Debbie A Dollar!

We’re asking each and every Long Islander to give just $1 (or more if you can) to help Debbie and the Angels of Long Island continue their mission. It may seem small, but together those single dollars can add up to a miracle for neighbors in need. There are nearly 3 million people living in Nassau and Suffolk alone, and if each of us contributed one dollar, it would mean almost $3 million to uplift local families that are desperately in need . Every dollar raised goes directly to the Angels Of Long Island!

If you can afford to donate, any amount will mean a great amount to our friends at the Angels Of Long Island. Pitch in a little, pitch in a lot, let's Give Debbie A Dollar!

Who are the Angels Of Long Island?

The Angels of Long Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015 with a simple idea: “neighbors helping neighbors.”

What began as a humble Facebook group to assist a single family in crisis has exploded into a lifeline for the entire community. In fact, it started with a mother and daughter duo, Debbie Loesch and her daughter Brittany, reaching out from their modest Bellport home to help one little girl and a struggling mom with two daughters.

They collected food, clothing, and essentials and “filled their needs completely”. The experience inspired them to create a Facebook group called “Angels of Long Island,” rallying friends and neighbors to donate items for local families facing hardships.

The response was astounding: the group grew from just 200 friends to over 60,000 members online in a short time. That huge outpouring of support showed Debbie and Brittany the power of community, and proved that Long Islanders are ready to take care of their own.

Today, Angels of Long Island has thousands of members across the Island and a physical presence to match. What started in a living room now includes a thriving thrift store, donation center, and community outreach center in Patchogue. From this headquarters, the Angels provide “a wide range of services and goods to people in crisis”.

Everything from food for the hungry and clothing for those who can’t afford it, to furniture for families who lost their homes and emotional support for those facing tragedy. The organization’s mission is to empower people to overcome poverty and hardship, and to remind us all that we’re capable of doing something to help.

As Debbie puts it…“I think we’re all capable of doing something to make a difference. When I grew up, neighbors watched out for neighbors…that’s not the case anymore.” The Angels of Long Island are on a mission to change that, one act of kindness at a time.
