Wayne "Papa" Halliday is an incredible husband, son, uncle, brother, father, and the best "Papa" around. Those who know him say he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, alway has a glowing smile on his face, and would go to the ends of the Earth for those he has any ability to help. He always has an open door to his home in Flaming Gorge which has created endless memories for everyone and anyone who has the fortune of visiting.
In 1966, he married the love of his life, Linda Bosshardt, on December 21 and together they've raised 4 children, Hidy Bingham, Steven Halliday, Brandie Goodman and David Halliday. They have 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild with another on the way. This year they will be celebrating their 52nd wedding Anniversary. During their life together, they have been fortunate to share many memories across the country from Wayne's call to service as a Vietnam veteran that he takes immense pride in.
After several lengthy hospitalizations, Wayne was diagnosed with cancer, Stage 3 Lymphoma. His treatment plan consists of 6 chemotherapy treatments once every 3 week for the next 6 months. While he is tackling this disease head on, Medicare and the VA don't completely cover these very expensive treatments and the bills are starting to amount. A selfless man who has always taken pride in being able to sustain and support himself and his posterity, he now finds himself in a tough situation fighting for his life. We know Papa has the strength to beat this and his fight is emboldened in his resilience and mental toughness in facing this challenge each and every day.
We humbly ask any who have had the opportunity and blessing of knowing Wayne, or have found courage in his story and continued fight to support him in any capacity possible. We are grateful for the already immense amount of outpouring love and support for him and for our family and know that this is an incredible ask of those of you reading this post. Wayne and Linda are forever indebted to those who are able to assist them in their time of need and we as a family cannot express our gratitude enough for anything that you are able to donate.
Thank you for your time and consideration, as well as the love and support we have felt through this entire hardship.
