'pling's photographic legacy

This gofundme has been setup to assist in curating, showcasing and archiving ‘pling's photographic legacy.
‘pling has left us with a photographic legacy that is incomprehensibly immense, a unique snapshot of the Canberra arts and music scene from 1970s - 2010s.
Of particular note - he chronicled an incredibly detailed snapshot of the innovative and experimental alternative/punk music, theatre, dance and arts scene in Canberra in the 90’s. It seemed like he was at every single gig on any given night, unassumingly taking photos up the front.
'pling was deeply respected within the arts community for his continued passion, love and support. He took thousands upon thousands of photos, and printed/gifted hundreds of photos to artists and performers. He loved sharing his work, and I'd like to see this legacy continue.
Over the past 6 months 'pling and Fabian spoke about this vision, ideas included:
- Digitising and archiving 'pling's photographic collection. From an initial count, there are approximately 50,000 negatives to digitise and 400,000 digital photos to sort through.
- A website to showcase his portfolio, potentially where people can order prints
- A book, exhibition, etc.
There is no doubt that his collection will keep giving for many lifetimes to come. It would be wonderful if you could donate to make this possible.

This initiative has been setup by 'pling's son - Fabian Prideaux, who lives in Melbourne, Australia. Fabian will withdraw funds to securely backup 'pling entire digital collection, after which, Fabian will be dedicating half a day a week to develop a website, sort, scan, archive and print, 'pling's work. This includes writing proposals / discussing ideas with different institutions/venues that might be interested in archiving 'pling's collection. Remaining funds will go towards making a publication of 'plings work AND/OR holding an exhibition of plings work.
