'Life-Saving' Surgery For Gloria Talbert

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

Hello!  My name is Marilyn White, and I am raising money for my dearly beloved younger sister, Gloria Talbert, who desperately needs your help!

                                        The Backstory

On July 20th, Gloria suffered a heart attack in Zimbabwe, Africa.  She is currently lying in a hospital in Zimbabwe, a very impoverished country which, unfortunately, does not have the means, nor the adequate capability of treating my sister for this very critical condition that she finds herself in.  The hospital facility is not adequately equipped with the more modern medical equipment, modern up-to-date-technology, and they do not have ample supplies of drugs and medication to treat her and care for her as needed.  This is a very critical situation and she needs immediate, urgent care ASAP.

My family and I have been actively searching for, and reaching out to, various health care professionals in both the countries of Zimbabwe and South Africa, to try to obtain vital information, and/or recommendations that can be helpful to us, as we try to have Gloria re-located to another hospital in South Africa where she can obtain modern up-to-date professional health care services and treatment that she so desperately needs, to save her life, and time is of the essence.  I was recently put in touch with a prominent cardiologist in South Africa, who has been  trying to assist us in having Gloria treated in a South African hospital, but first she must be transported from Zimbabwe to go there. Please pray that we will become successful in those efforts.

First and foremost, all of the doctors and other hospital medical personnel unanimously agree, and recommend, that Gloria be immediately moved out of the hospital in Zimbabwe, and transferred to a hospital in South Africa, (the closest place to transfer her to for treatment),  where she can receive the heart surgery and any other related treatment for her heart surgery.  In South Africa, she will have access to more modern health care treatment,  more modern up-to-date technology,  with modern hospital facilities outfitted with better equipment.  She will also have access to a more top-notch team of professionals to better care, and treat her for the  desperately needed heart surgery.

Unfortunately, too much precious time has already elapsed, as we have been waiting patiently, and relying upon a plan of action from the Zimbabwe hospital and their team of doctors, to come up with a plan of action for Gloria.  As precious time continues to pass, and seemingly, no plan of action coming forth from the Zimbabwe hospital, it became apparent to me and my family, that we needed to take a more proactive approach in this process, and perhaps take the lead charge in in trying to help my sister get the urgent care that she so desperately needs

So dear friends,
this is where you come in, as you can play a vital role in helping us to obtain the medical care and treatment that our beloved Gloria so desperately needs!  Time is of the essence, as she continues to experience,  daily,  on-going, painful, Angina attacks that continue to place additional stress and strain upon her heart.  Needless to say, it is a very critical situation, one that we have now come to realize, will also be a very costly one to get her treatment.

Earlier on, my family and I began to feel quite helpless, primarily because Gloria is approximately 8000-10,000 miles away from us, and there were seemingly no easy answers coming forth, and still isn't.  Even with the discomfort of her on-going daily painful angina attacks, her faith in God remains strong, and more importantly, Gloria wants to live
We, her family, also want her to live!

Gloria does, in fact, have US Medicare health coverage, but it does not provide coverage for any international health care services or treatment.  Unfortunately, she does not have any other health care coverage to fall back onIt will, therefore, be necessary for her to pay for all of her treatments and expenses, (including the surgery) with up-front cash, which Gloria and her family do not have.  You may ask, why doesn't she just fly back to the US for the treatment?  Not only do the doctors discourage and reject this as an option because of time and distance, but they insist that such a risk is far too great, and quite possibly an even greater threat and risk to her life.

Her condition is currently considered to be stable, but with her on-going painful, daily, angina attacks, and given the combined uncertainty of not knowing when, or how she will receive the medical emergency treatment, it is definitely starting to take a toll on her physically, mentally,  and emotionally.  Gloria has always been a trooper, so please pray that she continues to have the strength, the hope and the optimism, to continue to 'hang in there', as she waits to receive her much needed heart surgery, and any associated treatment  she may need.

How can you help to save my beloved sister's life?  You can help by going to the Go Fund Me page I've established in her name, and make a donation on her behalf to help pay for her heart surgery, as well as any additional health care related services that she will need.

                                           THE COST ESTIMATE
                                                        $40,000

First and foremost, Gloria must be medevac'd, (air- ambulanced), over to South Africa from Zimbabwe which is an extremely costly endeavor.  The estimated cost for this transport alone will be upwards of $15,000-20,000, depending upon which country the air-ambulance originates from.  The daily hospitalization room rate is estimated to be upwards of $1,500 or more per day,  which does not include any surgeons fees, drugs or medication, nor any of the other ancillary fees and costs that are usually associated with such treatment.  Therefore, many other costs may very well be incurred as it relates to the treatment she will need, including her recovery, and any other unanticipated services and costs
According to all of the information we've obtained thus far, the $40,000 estimate could perhaps be a very conservative one.

Obviously, we're all praying for a miracle in this emergency situation, however,  she, (and we, her family), are seeking and requesting your help.  A Go Fund Me Page has been established for her benefit, and it is titled:

            'Life-Saving Surgery For Gloria Talbert'.

We are therefore, requesting that you go to this newly established, Go Fund Me Page, as soon as possible, and start to make donations of any amount that you can possibly afford to give, to help us pay for her emergency treatment, as she needs to have funds readily available,  to help pay for any treatment.  My family and I are, (and will continue to be), eternally grateful to each of you for your kind generosity and support.  Likewise, Gloria, (who is not only my beloved sister, whom I love with all my heart), is also a beautiful, vibrant, loving spirit of God, who also appreciates, and extends her heartfelt thanks and gratitude to each of you, in advance of any contributions or donations that you are prepared to make on her behalf, to restore her health, and possibly even save her life.  Gloria desperately wants to live, and we, (her family), want exactly the same for her.

To help get the word out, we are requesting that you please share this Go Fund Me information via the link to your FACEBOOK Timeline and Contacts.  Lastly, thank you again, very much, in advance for your support and donations.
