प्रिय गायक यम बरालको ब्लड क्यान्सर उपचारका लागि सहयोग गरौँ

तीन दशकभन्दा लामो समयदेखि यम बरालले आफ्नो सुमधुर स्वरमार्फत नेपाली संगीतलाई अमूल्य योगदान दिँदै आउनुभएको छ। इलामको फिक्कलमा जन्मनुभएका उहाँले रेडियो नेपालमा “सागरभन्दा पनि गहिरो” गीत रेकर्ड गर्दै आफ्नो सांगीतिक यात्रा प्रारम्भ गर्नुभएको थियो।

गोरखा दक्षिणबाहुलगायत दर्जनौ पुरस्कारबाट विभूषित उहाँले सयौँ कालजयी गीत गाउनुभयो र नेपाली चलचित्र तथा आधुनिक संगीतमा आफ्नो छुट्टै पहिचान बनाउनुभयो। “बादलुको घुम्टोले,” “निष्ठुरीले छाडेर,” “मन रहे पो माया प्रीति,” “अब चोटहरूले,” “दिलमाया दिलमाया,” र “माया बस्यो मुटुमा” जस्ता उहाँका गीतहरू नेपाली श्रोताका सुख–दुःख, प्रेम–विछोड र जीवनका असंख्य सम्झनासँग जोडिएका छन्।

वर्षौँदेखि आफ्नो स्वरले लाखौँ नेपालीको मन छोइरहनुभएका प्रिय गायक यम बराल आज स्वयं जीवनको अत्यन्त कठिन संघर्षमा हुनुहुन्छ।

उहाँलाई मल्टिपल मायलोमा अर्थात् रगतको क्यान्सर भएको पुष्टि भएको छ। चिकित्सकहरूले उहाँलाई तीनदेखि चार चरणसम्म किमोथेरापी, लक्षित मोनोक्लोनल एन्टिबडी उपचार तथा त्यसपछि अटोलोगस स्टेम सेल प्रत्यारोपण गर्न सिफारिस गरेको छ।

त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षण अस्पतालको प्रारम्भिक अनुमानअनुसार किमोथेरापी तथा लक्षित उपचारका लागि करिब २८ लाख नेपाली रुपैयाँ र स्टेम सेल प्रत्यारोपणका लागि थप १६ देखि २० लाख रुपैयाँ आवश्यक पर्नेछ। यसबाहेक परीक्षण, औषधि, अस्पताल बसाइ, संक्रमण नियन्त्रण, यातायात, उपचारपछिको निगरानी तथा पुनःस्वास्थ्यलाभमा पनि लाखौं थप खर्च लाग्न सक्छ।

यस कठिन अवस्थामा उहाँको उपचारलाई निरन्तरता दिन तथा आर्थिक चिन्ताभन्दा उपचार र स्वास्थ्यलाभमा ध्यान केन्द्रित गर्न सहयोग पुर्‍याउने उद्देश्यले हामीले $६०,००० अमेरिकी डलरको GoFundMe अभियान सुरु गरेका छौँ।

यम बरालको संगीत केवल मनोरञ्जन मात्र होइन, उहाँका गीतहरू हाम्रो बाल्यकाल, प्रेम, परिवार, जन्मभूमि र जीवनका अनगिन्ती स्मृतिसँग जोडिएका छन्। हामी खुसी हुँदा, दुःखी हुँदा र जीवनका कठिन मोडहरूमा उहाँको स्वर हाम्रो साथमा रहने गर्दछ!

Help Beloved Singer Yam Baral Fight Blood Cancer

For more than three decades, Yam Baral has made an invaluable contribution to the Nepali music industry through his soulful and melodious voice. Born in Fikkal, Ilam, he began his professional musical journey by recording the song “Sagar Bhanda Pani Gahiro” at Radio Nepal.

Honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Yam Baral has sung hundreds of timeless songs and established a distinctive place in both Nepali modern and film music. Songs such as “Badaluko Ghumtole,” “Nisthurile Chhadera,” “Man Rahe Po Maya Priti,” “Aba Chotharule,” “Dilmaya Dilmaya,” and “Maya Basyo Mutuma” have become deeply woven into the joys, sorrows, love, separation, and countless memories of generations of Nepali listeners.

After touching the hearts of millions through his music, our beloved singer Yam Baral is now facing one of the most difficult battles of his life.

He has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. His doctors have recommended three to four cycles of chemotherapy with targeted monoclonal antibody treatment, followed by an autologous stem cell transplant.

According to the preliminary estimate provided by Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, approximately NPR 28 lakh will be required for chemotherapy and targeted treatment, with an additional NPR 16 to 20 lakh needed for the stem cell transplant. Beyond these costs, several additional lakhs may be required for medical tests, medications, hospitalization, infection prevention, transportation, follow-up care, and post-treatment recovery.

To help ensure that his treatment continues without interruption and to allow him to focus on healing rather than financial stress, we have launched this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of US$60,000.

The funds raised will help cover:

Chemotherapy and targeted cancer treatment

Autologous stem cell transplantation

Medications, medical tests, and hospital expenses

Follow-up care and post-treatment recovery

Necessary travel, accommodation, and other treatment-related expenses

Yam Baral’s music is far more than entertainment. His songs are connected to our childhoods, our families, our homeland, our love stories, and countless memories throughout our lives. In moments of happiness, sadness, celebration, and hardship, his voice has always been there with us.
