Iris has been my beloved companion since she was a puppy. Four years ago, when she was spayed, some microscopic pieces of her uterus and ovarian tissue were accidentally left inside her. Because of this, Iris continues to have heat cycles, which has led to a serious infection called Stump Pyometra. Over her last few cycles, she developed a UTI and began experiencing severe pain. She is crying every 20 to 40 minutes and struggling with digestive issues. It’s heartbreaking to see her suffer, and I know she needs urgent help.

The only way to save Iris is to have surgery performed by a board-certified surgeon who can find and remove the remaining tissue and clear out the infection. The cost of this surgery is overwhelming, and after spending everything I had on her last round of vet bills 6 months ago, taking a pay cut, having surgery myself, and overtime no longer being offered. We also lost our 16-year-old dog, Lucy, in November after she had seizures, which has made this time even more difficult for my little family. We were able to come up with part of the costs but still have some remaining.

In addition to this, she is assumed to have IVDD (no imaging for this yet) but this will also be an expensive situation later down the road, however, its not her first priorty. It does contribute to her pain and will need to be addressed in the future.

I am praying for support and assistance to save my sweet Iris. Your help will give her the chance to live pain-free and avoid a life-threatening infection.
