First and foremost, thank you so much for even considering donating to extend Capone's life. Capone is a full-time "vanlife" pup based in Denver. He is the adventurous and fun-loving baby boy of my two amazing friends, Christian and Nocole, who recently discovered Capone has cancer.
As all of us know, cancer is detrimental to every family -- whether it be a spouse, partner, grandparent, sibling, friend, or even a pet. During Capone's annual vet visit last year, Christian and Nocole were made known that there were abnormal, but noncancerous cells found in Capone. They were told not to worry at all. That story had changed during their latest vet visit, where Capone was determined to indeed have cancer.
Capone will have to have his tail amputated and, at minimum, tissue the size of a golf ball removed from his leg. Capone is also recommended to undergo chemotherapy to ensure the cancer is ridded of his body. Capone will need extensive aftercare and health monitoring thereafter. The price of all of this tallies to a practically unfeasible amount. The "number" and "cost" of Capone's life is currently between $7,000 and $8,000, with additional aftercare and chemotherapy numbers unknown. I think for most of us, paying this wouldn't be an option.
My goal is to help Christian and Nocole save their baby boy as best I can. They are both full-time entrepreneurs and travelers, and are hardworking, young adults with a deep love for this planet and all within. If I can change their lives in any way, it would be to give them as many more years with Capone as he deserves. Capone isn't ready to ride off into the sunset, and Christian and Nocole are going to do everything they can to keep their budding traveler in their lives.
Thank you again for even considering helping Capone. I know it means unspeakable thank-yous from both Christian and Nocole.
