The Flemington Ice Arena is heartbroken to share the news of the loss of a member of our family. Connor Golembiewski tragically lost his life on Tuesday 1/1/19 at the age of 17. Connor was loved by all who knew him, and respected by anyone who just happen to have the chance to meet him. If you were lucky enough to meet him, you would instantly notice his infectious smile, calm demeanor and the willingness to help out in anyway he could.
We at Flemingotn Ice are setting up a GoFundMe account in memory of Connor and to help keep his spirit within us. The donated funds will be used to start a Foundation in Connor's name to help make hockey, the sport he loved, accessible to all children in the area, especially those who need a helping hand.
Connor's love and passion for hockey played a big part throughout his life. He played for the local clubs of the NJ Renegades, NJ Freeze, & Hunterdon Bears; as well as the Hunterdon Central Regional High School. Connor was an excellent player, and the consummate teammate who made everyone around him better. Connor also absolutely loved working with the young kids to teach them how to skate and play hockey, and to enjoy every second on the ice. His smile was always the brightest when seen through his hockey helmet cage.
In addition to his love of hockey, Connor was an honor roll student at Hunterdon Central HS, was actively involved in many scholastic clubs, a wonderful friend to many, an awesome big brother, and the greatest son a parent could ask for. Our community now has a void without him, but we are all
better people for knowing Connor.
Please help us honor the spirit of a wonderful young man so he can continue to touch the lives of everyone around us, and those of the future.
