Gavin's Recovery
Gavin was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor. He's only 11 years old.
I woke up to a text from my sister saying "Gavin's in the hospital. I'm scared." I knew something was seriously wrong and when I got her on the phone she told me the news. Gavin was brought into the ER on Friday, May 21 and after an MRI, doctors discovered the mass on his brain.
After spending the weekend in the hospital and discovering the life-threatening tumor, they schedule him for surgery the following Monday. On May 24th he underwent a 12-hour operation to remove it. We are so thankful the tumor is out, but Gavin has a long road to recovery. He's battling short-term memory loss, double vision, a blood clot in his leg, and diabetes insipidus. We are still waiting to hear more about the tumor and what kind it was.
Gavin is in good spirits. He's currently daydreaming about all the good food he wants to eat and hopes one day he can eat at a Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant.
Gavin is strong and brave, but for anyone, this is a terrifying thing to face. My hope for starting this Go Fund Me page is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens so Gavin and his family can focus on healing and getting through this.
All donations will go towards Gavin's medical bills and his recovery.
