Visual Assistance 4 Heather Edwards

I am wanting to purchase a pair of Nueyes or esight3 glasses that help the legally blind see. I have been legally blind from birth. I have cone dystophy which leaves me light sensitive, color blind, legally blind, and with no central vision.  I've never known what it's like to be able to see the individual leaves on a tree, or see my parents walking toward me on a sidewalk. I do know what it's like to be taunted in school because of having to squint to get around or having to have special accommodations by the teacher. I know what it's like to not be able to participate in certain activities with your friends because it's impossible to accomplish with limited vision. I know the depression and anxiety that come with not being able to fully see the world around you and function like everyone else. I've always lived in constant fear of not being able to fully function wherever I'm going, due to my eyesight. 

I have never let my eyesight stop me from achieving any of my goals. I am in school for my second degree and am a Finance Manager.  It hasn't been easy work though. There have been many days where I feel like giving up because it's so difficult. It takes me so much longer to complete assignments in comparison to students with accurate eyesight. Sometimes, it just doesn't feel worth it. But I'm ambitious and I don't give up. My dream job is to be the Director of a Not for Profit organization that helps sexually assaulted women and children rehabilitate.  All I've ever wanted it to help others.  

 I know that these glasses would improve my everyday quality of living by taking away the stress of not knowing whether or not I'll be able to see. I can't tell you the joy I would get from being able to read my textbook when it isn't pushed up against my nose. Goodbye would be the tension headaches from straining to read the print of medicine bottles. The small things that most people don't think about, would be the things that would bring tears to my eyes.
