Expedition You Are Not Alone

I am Alex Tufail, a veteran of the United States Navy and the Leader and Founder of Expedition You Are Not Alone.  I need your help raising funds for gear and supplies for my upcoming expedition to raise awareness for PTSD and Veteran suicide.   The expedition will last a total of 9 months; 70 days cycling to Denali, 20 days on Denali, climbing and culminating with 70 days cycling back.  This is about 9 months total that I will be dedicating my life solely to this expedition and will be away from work, and family. This is why we're counting on contributions from fans and friends, like you, and we so appreciate every little bit you donate.   
 
I will be cycling Solo from the US/Mexico border in San Diego to the Arctic Circle in Alaska.  From there I will continue to Denali National Park to climb Denali. Then, barring any serious injuries, I will make the final push to cycle back home to Prescott, Arizona. 
 
I want to be an example of hope to the veteran community and communities alike. Despite the daily struggle of managing PTSD, Depression, suicidal ideas, as well as, other mental illnesses, WE are strong! WE can set goals and strive to accomplish them. WE can work through lows and make our dreams, goals and aspirations a reality. We Are Not Alone. 
 
I suffer from Depression and PTSD, and it has taken its toll on my wellbeing for several years. After a suicide attempt in 2013 I realized that I wasn't just hurting myself, but also my family. The devastation I inflicted on my loved ones was beyond painful to watch.  I realized that a change was needed -with that in mind I challenged myself to change how I approached responding to life and struggles. I turned to the outdoors and found relief. My story is not unique. Countless others struggle with PTSD, Depression and suicidal thoughts like I do.   Last year I decided a monumental impact needed to take place, and so, Expedition You Are Not Alone took shape with the message that our veterans are not broken, that we are not useless, and most importantly that we are capable of achieving greatness. 
 
We need your help to make it happen.  
 
A large portion of the funds will be used to cover costs of the Expedition. This includes Gear, training, Food and other expenses while on the trip.  
 
Crunch time is now! With 9 months until the start of the expedition- January, 2019- we need to QUICKLY raise the funds to accomplish our goal!
