Exonerated and now free!!

Vicente Benavides was released from California’s death row on April 18, 2018. He was incarcerated for more than 26 years for a crime he did not commit. He returns to a warm community of family and friends who have supported him throughout this ordeal. But now that he is out, he has a lot of needs and not a lot of resources. Vicente is 68 years old. He has no savings, health insurance, social security, or retirement. He needs basic necessities, so he can rebuild his entire life in a world that looks, sounds, and feels totally different from the one he left nearly three decades ago.

Vicente Benavides fue liberado del corredor de la muerte en California el 18 de abril del 2018.  Estuvo encarcelado por más de 26 años por un crimen que no cometió.  El vuelve a una comunidad de familia y amigos que lo han apoyado a través de esta odisea. Pero ahora que está fuera, el tiene muchas necesidades y no muchos recursos.  Vicente tiene 68 años. No tiene ahorros, seguro de salud, seguro social o pensión. Necesita cosas básicas para rearmar su vida entera en un mundo que se mira, oye, y siente totalmente diferente de él que dejo hace casi tres décadas.
