Veasna Meth, better known to many as A.B., is in URGENT need of YOUR help. He is the father of a beautiful eight year old boy and a loving husband who has recently returned to Cambodia to build a new life. Tragically, he was in a serious motorcycle accident two nights ago and has suffered a serious spinal injury.
He needs an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion. This surgery is crucial in restructuring his vertebrae to give him any hope of being able to walk again in the future. Without this surgery and in his unstable state, there is a possibility that he will loose all ability to move, including his arms or ability to sit upright independently.
With no medical insurance, the total costs for this essential surgery and aftercare is $10,000. We were able to scrape together a deposit that covered half the cost of his surgery and ICU care for two days, which was enough for the surgeons to move forward with the operation. The remaining balance is roughly $6000.
Friends are coming together to raise funds to help his family out in a time of need. This fundraiser is to help with his surgery costs and after-stay at the Royal Rattanak Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is in a critical state, and this surgery could mean the difference between him being restricted to a wheelchair unable to do everyday tasks, and having the chance to walk and have full body motion again!
Please help with what you can. Each day in the hospital is about $200. Each scan is about $50. Every dollar counts! We have managed to scrounge enough money so he can get in for this surgery, but are struggling to come up with the rest. We have been given 48 hours by the hospital to come up with the remaining money.
