Everything lost in fire in Maui
My daughter Brittany and her family lost everything in a fire in the early hours of the morning August 24th 2018. She has four young children and they had been preparing for Hurricane Lane to come. They had food and water and the shelter was secure. They woke to the smell of smoke and had minutes to get themselves out of house. We are grateful that they all made it out without injury, but they have absolutely nothing left. Please give if you are able or share this story with as many people as you can.+ Read More
I have just come back from returning Koko to his parents on Maui. The support from the community and all of you has been amazing. Brittany and Kaeo wanted me to post this message from them: ``Aloha Friends and Family. We just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all of the generosity you have shown to our family. The fire left us with the clothes on our back and the vehicle we escaped in. The loss was extremely devastating. The days after the fire were filled with confusion, tears and worry. The only hope we had came from all of you generously donating what you could. Thanks to you all, we now have a chance to rebuild our lives piece by piece. It`s going to be a long road but we are determined to stay strong and positive. Thank you all from family, fiends, to complete strangers, nothing has gone unnoticed.``
I am heading back to Maui to return Koko home to his family. What a blessing that he will never experience the trauma of that morning. His only concern is that now that he has learned to ride his bike here, he can ride the one he left at home. First order of business....replace Koko's lost bike
The family wants to extend thanks to everyone for their support. They were given an abundance of food, clothing and supplies for the baby over the past couple of days.
