$2,255 of $15,000 goal

Being a kid is hard. Being a kid in foster care is harder. Some of these children face immeasurable hurdles. You have the power to help them feel safe, have fun and laugh like they don’t have a worry in the world.

How? By donating to Family Nurturing Center’s  new playground fund. Your gift of any amount is guaranteed to put a smile on more than 1,300 children’s faces and give them happy memories during a difficult time.

At Family Nurturing Center, we serve children in Hamilton County, Ohio who been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or a parent’s struggles with mental illness or substance abuse through our Supervised Visitation  service.

During a supervised visit , children spend time with their parent(s) in a safe and nurturing environment. Parents receive coaching from trained facilitators who help them improve their parenting skills and develop stronger family relationships.

Our old building and playground were torn down just before the holidays . We need your help to rebuild the playground at our new site which, has much more space for children to run and play. The playground is wheelchair accessible and will feature a variety of play options.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 by May 31.  Donate now and you can be a Hero for Children. No cape required.

Please note: Any funds raised above our goal will be used for playground maintenance and other vital children’s’ programming.  Thank you!

Thank you friends for being a Hero for Children! Working with the excavation crew for build timeline. We wanted to share a photo of the playground equipment (commercial grade) that is sitting in storage, waiting for more heroes to help us raise the money to install. Please ask your friends to join with you to be Every Day Heroes! Thanks!

Thanks for the question about the playground use for children with disabilities. The playground is wheelchair accessible and will feature a variety of play options. Some playground activities may not be suitable for children with some disabilities, however we have worked to create a welcoming space that includes picnic tables, dramatic play areas and musical instruments so that children of all abilities can enjoy this beautiful outdoor space! This is a private playground to be used by children and families referred to our Visitation Services program through Hamilton County Job and Family Services. Please let us know if you have other questions, or if you have ideas of how we can make the area more inclusive.

Great question was just asked about the playground location at 7162 Reading Road. We appreciate their due diligence before making a donation. The green space as pictured is behind the building near the strip mall parking lot. It will be fenced off and feature a commercial grade playground and large grassy area under shade trees, once funding goals are met. We are happy to give you a tour of the entire location - inside as well as the planned outdoor development.
