Everest to End Duchenne
Tax deductible
Please allow me to introduce my friend, Gus Dreher. Gus has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He will be bound to a wheel chair by the age of 15. He will likely take his last breath before age 30. This horrible future will happen if medicine does not advance beyond today. I am trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp to raise money and awareness for the ongoing research and development of medicines and treatments that will one day be a cure. It's up to researchers to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is up to us to encourage the conversation and raise awareness of this fatal disease so that drug companies and researchers give this disease the attention it deserves. Duchenne affects around 1 in 3,600 boys, which results in muscle degeneration and premature death often before the age of 30.
Gus is now 12. The same age as my youngest child, Gage. I have watched Gus grow up, have taken vacations with he and his family, have watched as Gus and my children play together as happy carefree children. I hope so very much for Gus to continue and grow and develop and fulfill his dream of becoming a wildlife ecologist. One day when Gus is old and grey, he can reflect on the wonderful life he has been blessed with.
In September 2017, I will be trekking with a group of like-minded individuals to Mount Everest Base Camp to raise money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Every dollar I raise on this 14 day trek will go directly to the Hope For Gus Foundation, where they will use the money for the ongoing research and development of several promising drugs that will help all boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
My company, Full Circle International, Inc., will match total donations up to $5,000. My hope is to raise $5,000 from private donations and match $5,000 to raise a total of $10,000 for finding a cure to end Duchenne.
Thank you very much for your valuable contribution,
Natalie Annis
