Eugene P. Carter Chemotherapy Fund

Donation protected
My father, Eugene P. Carter, Jr., was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a form of bone marrow cancer, in 2014. He is unable to produce healthy blood cells in sufficient quantities, resulting in anemia, occasional fainting spells, shortness of breath, and fatigue. He is also dangerously susceptible to infection, and spent the last week of July 2017 in the hospital due to a severe case of streptococcal bronchitis, as well as congestive heart failure.

Eugene is currently receiving chemotherapy once a month, followed by drugs to stimulate red and white blood cell production. He also receives infrequent transfusions, when he requires emergency boosts in blood cell counts.

Treatment is ongoing, and funds collected now will be used to pay Eugene's current medical debts. The goal amount will likely have to be increased as time goes on to keep up with his continuing treatment.

My father is 74; he has been a resident of the Louisiana River Parishes for almost his entire life, except for several years spent in the U. S. Army. My mother has severe osteoarthritis, and uses a wheelchair most of the time. I myself am disabled and unable to provide the financial assistance that my parents need at this time.

My thanks to anyone willing to assist us at this difficult time. Please contact me via GoFundMe if you have any questions; I will try to answer those that I can.
