Bethlehem Twp Police "Noshember"
The Bethlehem Township Police Association (Northampton County, Pennsylvania) welcomes back the month of "Noshember."
This year, the Bethlehem Township Police Association is raising money through "Noshember" for the Allison Perno Scholarship Fund. Allison Perno, a 12 year old Bethlehem Twp Girl, died sadly in 2012 from cardiac arrhythmia. The Perno Family began the fund to provide scholarship money for students involved in the band program. The fund has also made it possible for children who are otherwise unable to afford trips with their band groups the opportunity to do so. This fund has already benefitted may children in the Bethlehem School District as well as scholarship money towards Moravian College.
Once again, with full support from the Bethlehem Township Chief of Police Daniel Pancoast, Officers are going to participate in "No Shave November," donating money to The Allison Perno Scholarship Fund in order for the Chief of Police to waive the department's policy regarding shaving. Officers will be penalized (required to donate additional money) should they: shave, have the greyest beard, have the patchiest beard, have the fullest beard, or have the longest beard.
Since the Officers participating are always in contact with the public, they hope to spread the word of the fundraiser just by being visible in public with their unkempt faces.
The Bethlehem Township Police Association invites all to participate. Consider skipping that haircut this month. Forget about buying that razor or shaving cream. Maybe even skip that waxing appointment. And take whatever cost that was going to be, and donate it to help local area children who may not have had the oppertunity before, to continue doing somthing they love.
Officers will be donating $30.00 to have the policy waived; an additional $20.00 should they shave; and $10.00 extra should they end up with the most, or least desirable growth. Any donation, however much, is greatly appreciated.
This fundraiser is an effort of the Bethlehem Township Police Association. We request that any contribution you make be made by December 1, 2015. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
