Estlow Family Emergency Fund

Donation protected
Dear Friends Old and New:

The purpose of this campaign is to raise emergency funds for the Dan and Heather Estlow family in Altoona, PA. They have been married for 11 years and their blended family consists of 7 children, ages 10-19. Heather and Dan have been very active in the animal rescue community for many years, and the family also consists of 7 dogs, 5 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a rabbit, and a mouse.

Unfortunately and through no fault of his own, Dan was unexpectedly let go from his job yesterday, December 2, 2016. While Heather runs her own small pet-sitting business, this does not provide enough income to meet the family's basic needs.

I am also an animal rescue volunteer, and have known Heather for over two decades. She is an extremely warm-hearted person who emobidies the phrase 'busy people get more done.' Despite some health challenges, her large family, and her demanding business, Heather remains dedicated to meeting the needs of her family, clients, and the larger community with a positive and determined attitude. She has always been there for me with any personal or animal-related problem I may have been experiencing, and I know countless other people echo my sentiments. Dan is a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and family man who shares his wife's love for animals and helping those in need.

I think most people can relate to losing a job at the most inopportune time, and this is an opportunity to give back to a couple who have raised their children to have compassion for all Beings, and to work hard and give back. It will be at least 3 weeks before Dan can begin to collect unemployment benefits, and by then the family will have already missed one paycheck. All funds raised will go to cover the following costs for the Estlow family: basic bills (food/mortgage/utilities/car payment, etc.), continuing medical insurance, and keeping their senior dogs on their medicine.

I know this is a challenging time for a lot of people, and I thank you so much for contributing whatever you can. May you be blessed richly for helping this family in their time of need. On behalf of the Estlow family, we wish all of you a meaningful, happy and peaceful Holiday season.
