My aunt and uncle had always wanted children but due to issues beyond their control they were unable to conceive.  So they turned towards adoption in my aunts birthplace in the Philippines where they fell in love with a little boy who was given up at birth, they named him Jeremiah.  Erik and Vicky loved Jeremiah so much but to get him here they needed one of them to stay behind to be able to do the legal adoption via Philippines' adoption processes.  So my uncle Erik left his job in America and moved to the Philippines to be with his son so that he could be able to bring Jeremiah home next March.

Erik was a tremendous father and loved Jeremiah beyond words.  But yesterday everything went wrong and my uncle was murdered while in a shop close to their home.  While the details are still coming in, I have been asked not to include details.

Now Jeremiah is left alone again after getting to know his father for only one short year.  Jeremiah is asking where daddy went and is now back to square one with his adoption.  Jeremiah's adoptive mother is now scrambling to get him adopted by herself and left having to deal with the unexpected murder of her husband half way across the world.

I am asking for help for my aunt and for Jeremiah who is in the middle of the adoption process.   Bringing Erik home will cost almost $8,000, paying for a funeral will be thousands more.  The burden of adoption costs on a widow is substantial.  Jeremiah has been their son in their hearts for 5 years and we can't see him fall through the system.  Hes lost his best friend and father.  My grandparents (Erik's parents) are also wanting to help, but just 4 years ago they had to bury my own mother - 2 kids in 4 years.  I also ask so that the burden to my grandparents are not so substantial as this traumatic event has devastated the whole family.

Thank you for anything you can spare.  Any money raised will go towards funeral expenses, bringing Erik home, legal fees incurred by the murder, full adoption of Jeremiah and help towards Erik's widowed wife.

Vicky is off to the Philippines this morning to be with Jeremiah and be at Erik's side for his funeral in the Philippines.
We could really use one last boost as we put this whole week behind us and start the healing process.
Would you mind one last share on payday? Or if you haven't yet donated, this will be my last push for donations. I will keep the gofundme going until the activity stops.
Thank you all for your love, prayers, support, donations and shares. There is so much good in this world, way more than darkness; and we thank God for each and every one of you! God bless. <3
