Note from Epic B: I'm narrating this over the phone to my manager since I don't have a computer to write it out.

I was robbed at gunpoint for all my production equipment on the night of Janurary 31st, 2018.

I left my home at around midnight with both my computers, two iPhones, hard drives, and $500 in cash — all things I needed to run errands the next day. My friend called me a Lyft from my home in Brownsville to her home in the Ridgewood area.

I got in the Lyft, and midway through the ride the car I'm in gets t-boned by another car. The Lyft driver calls 911, since the passenger side door I was sitting near was caved in, and I narrowly avoided serious injury.

Two minutes later as the Lyft driver's back is turned, four people walked towards the car I was in. I assumed they were all invovled in the accident, but only one woman was really involved. The other three were looking to take advantage of the situation and rob the Lyft driver's car.

Initially as they were going through the car's contents, I didn't think they would mess with me because I was just the passenger, but once they saw me I knew it was over. I was robbed at gunpoint for my backpack with all my equipment, they emptied my pockets of my phone and cash which I needed for a deposit on a new room I was planning on moving into, and told me to "keep it moving."

As for why I had all this equipment with me:

I always travel with my Macbook, which is my primary tool for music production, along with my portable hard drives. I brought my Toshiba laptop because I had to do some mixdowns for a client on Cubase, which I only have on my windows computer

I recently purchased an iPhone 8 on a payment plan, and was going to return my old iPhone 7+ to Sprint.

List of stolen contents
1x Toshiba Qosmio Laptop
1x 2015 15"Macbook Pro
1x iPhone 8
1x iPhone 7+
1x 1 TB Toshiba Portable Hard Drive
$500 Cash

I lost all the music I've been making. I'm starting from zero. As hard as it will be to start over, I want to try and keep things moving. Raising enough money to assist in replacing my lost equipment is the first step.

Thank you for the support, and please share.

Hey everyone,

After a few months and the support from everyone that donated to get me back on my feet, I was able to get a used iMac and an older Macbook to travel with with. I was also able to put money down towards my new place with some help from friends and co-workers. Since then I’ve been able to recreate and push forward with my music. The hardest thing was letting go of all the work and things that made me the artist I was, but I’ve since been motivated me to start fresh and come back stronger than ever.

As for the robbery, I wasn't able to get anything I’ve lost back, and the police haven’t been able to move forward with the case, but through old emails and music friends sent me, I got some things back. I honestly didn’t expect the justice system would really help me out, and since the night of the robbery, I knew I would never see those things ever again.

I truly appreciate all the love and support, and will continue to work on my craft because of all the help I’ve received. Truly am grateful and hope to be able to help someone the same way I’ve been helped.

I will also be sending out an unreleased track to everyone who donated.

Thank you,

Thank you to everyone for all their help and support over the past days. Epic is incredibly moved by everyone's generosity, and this is a level of response from the community that he never could have imagined.

He's currently in communication with both the police and Lyft to try and figure out the situation.

Despite the setback, Epic is trying his hardest to try and bounce back. Everyone's generosity is hugely appreciated.
