The Fairfax Falcons wheelchair basketball teams have both qualified to participate in the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Louisville, KY from April 7-10. This is a tremendous accomplishment and honor, and all of the players are extremely excited. The varsity and prep teams will be traveling to Louisville to play with teams from all over the country, and they will have the opportunity to witness outstanding basketball at every level. We are raising money to help with traveling and hotel expenses for the players on the prep and varsity teams. Each family is responsible for transporting their player to the tournament as well as covering all costs while there. We would be humbled and forever grateful for any assistance you can offer. This means the world to our kids!!  Thank you!

The Fairfax Falcons Wheelchair Basketball Team would like to take this moment to thank everyone for the amazing generosity of so many incredible people!! Every dollar donated assisted the families in making the trip to Louisville, KY for the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. It was a fantastic experience for everyone, and we are hoping to return next year. The Prep team was 8th in the nation, and the Varsity team took 14th. We are so proud of each and every player for their hard work and determination throughout the entire tournament, and for putting everything into each game. The team and parents wore yellow ribbons during the tournament to support one of our players who has been battling childhood cancer. Please Like and share his Facebook page: Alex's Army. We need to spread awareness and help to find cures so that kids like Alex won't have to fight so hard and for so long. Thank you again for all of your support in our journey to Nationals. We have been truly humbled by the number of people who wanted to help our team!

Today was the Falcons' last practice before traveling to the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. They played very well and are ready to take on the competition. Wednesday will be our travel day, and the first round of the tournament begins on Thursday morning. The Prep team's first game is at 11:00 a.m., and Varsity plays at 2:00. We will post updates and pictures throughout the tournament to the Falcons' Facebook page (Fairfax Falcons Paralympic Sports Team). We've run into some last minute hurdles, so the coaches are trying to scramble to take care of them quickly. The team is extremely thankful to have Eric and Lisa as their coaches, and we're all grateful for everything they continue to do for the players. We also want to take this time to thank all of the amazing people who have chosen to donate to help the team make this big trip! We could never thank you enough for your generosity!!
