Emory's Kidney Donation

Emory is donating one of her kidneys so that family-friend Mike can receive one.  

The original plan was for Emory to donate directly to Mike, but with their bodies being different sizes, they have looked to Alliance for Paired Donation to help match them with a donor and another receipent that are better matches.  They also opted for this option as to help others in their troubles with kidney failure; a complete selfless act from both.

The money raised here will be used to help off set the costs that are associated with the donations.  As insurance covers the medial aspects of the donation and surgeries, most travel costs and lost wages are not covered or replaced.  With Emory's support team in Chico and San Jose, and surgery in San Diego, we are looking to raise some funds to get her support team to be by her side through the days in San Diego.

Any monies raised over the goal/needs will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation and those in need through Scripps Green Hospital.
