Hi, I'm Emmanuel. I'm a delegate from Brooklyn, New York pledged to Bernie Sanders and I need your help to go to the Democratic National Convention.
Why I support Bernie
I've been campaigning for Bernie and the issues he represents since June 2015. When I heard that Bernie was running without help from corporate donors or SuperPACs I knew I had to support him. Separating big money from politics is something I'm passionate about.
Why I need your help
You might be surprised to learn that delegates to the convention have to shell out thousands of dollars in expenses just to attend. Bernie's delegates are from all backgrounds - not just rich donors - so we're looking to our friends and other Bernie supporters to help us get there.
Why is the convention important?
This will be a contested convention. We need to get every delegate pledged to Bernie to Philly and on the convention floor to cast their votes!
Our delegation will be able to shape the platform that the Democratic party will run on. Key policy points are decided at the Convention and will be voted on by both Bernie and Hillary's delegates.
As Bernie delegates we can push issues like income inequality, get the party to commit to a $15 minimum wage and make combating climate change a central pillar of our policy.
I am excited to be a part of this process and to help fight for a more progressive Democratic Party.
What will the money go towards?
All money raised will go towards the expenses of getting to and staying in Philly for the 5 nights of the Convention. The New York delegates have been assigned a hotel which costs a ridiculous amount per night and are expected to stay there at their own cost. That's how broken our democracy is!
Any amount will go a long way and be hugely appreciated... as will any help sharing this page with others!
