My name is Emma Gloudeman, and I'm going to the artistic roller skating world championships for the first time this September!
I started skating as soon as I could walk -- I actually had skates before I was even born. This year at the US National Championships I placed 2nd in Junior World Class figures, which made me a member of USA Roller Sports Team USA, headed to Novara, Italy on September 26.
This wasn't my first medal at the National Championships; over the years I've earned 7 gold medals and 5 silver medals in A-level figure events. I've also earned 5 medals at the America's Cup Championships, which includes skaters from North, Central and South America. But qualifying for Team USA and competing at the world championships is, by far, the greatest honor and accomplishment of my skating career and my entire life.
While I've been working hard to earn and save money for this trip, I could use your help. I am responsible for 100% of my own expenses, including airfare, lodging, food, entry fees, training fees, uniforms...everything.
I am so excited and proud to represent both my country and my fellow US skaters! Please help me make it to worlds!
